If Hotel B were a person, it would be utterly chic, always well attired, and well mannered enough to make you feel like you’re the only person in the room. Basically charming and classy but cool.

Opened in 2013, Hotel B is set in a gorgeously restored Belle Epoque mansion first constructed in 1917. Every detail – every vase, every book, every rug, and adornment has been meticulously selected, creating a whimsical ambiance that is rich in character yet contemporary and clean. No heavy tapestries, ornate touches or overwrought chandeliers here.

The hotel, a member of Relais & Chateaux, is also a curated gallery in itself, each passageway and room featuring unique pieces of modern art, many by Peruvian artists, which you will be given a tour of following your check-in.

The hotel is divided into contemporary and traditional wings. And there are only 17 rooms, meaning that you can appreciate personalized attention throughout your stay. Hotel B is distinguished by its signature features – the aroma of delicate jasmine and fig which perfume each room, the artisanal full-sized bath products provided, and the handwritten notes left for each guest, among others.

What else can you expect? Traditional rooms, featuring exposed wood beams and high ceilings, offer vintage flair with modern comforts. King or Queen sized beds are outfitted with plush white linens, as well as large-sized rain showers & saunas or stand-alone porcelain baths. In each instance, tradition has been reconciled with modernity – windows are double glazed to ensure you’re at peace as you relax in your room.

The contemporary wing, while more minimalist, still bears the same charming touches, maintaining the beautiful design of the original house.

The dining rooms and bar are elegant but intimate, allowing for natural light to pour through. Crafted by renowned local chef Oscar Velarde, the menu is modern yet anything but sparse, featuring the best of local dishes plus selected international touches. Or relish their renowned afternoon tea, featuring classic finger sandwiches, an array of pastries and petit fours, and a selection of hot beverages. Served daily, it is also complimentary for guests staying at the hotel.

Walk upstairs to the terrace at dusk and enjoy a drink or light bite as you take in the one-of-a-kind view of the sunset over the Pacific coast from the rooftop lounge.

Don’t stop there. Step outside the beautiful premises and you’ll find yourself in the heart of Barranco, Lima’s bohemian neighborhood, an enclave for artists, cafes, galleries, and only steps away from the coastline. Take a stroll and explore, or better yet, hop on one of their complimentary vintage bikes.

For personality and style without compromising service and comforts, Hotel B might be your ideal choice during your stay in the capital city.
